"Sealing your bathroom can be a disaster," says the ad, revealing a wide shot of a man slathered in silicone. "Your fingers were never meant to be used like this!" The Details:
Pro Caulk's 12 smoothing angles can lay a line of caulk like nobody's business. Using two of the "standard" rounded 90-degree angles as an improvised hawk-and-knife pair, we sealed exterior window casings on an old stone house outside idyllic Kerhonkson, N.Y. Maybe it was the morning sun glistening off the silicone, or maybe it was the fact that we were caulking, for once, without a finger full of soap and sealant, but Pro Caulk's stellar showing proved it to be the single most satisfying tool of all the As Seen On TV products tested yet.
It's simple—just a few chunks of flat molded polymer—but for this job, those little blue disks are far superior to the typical fingertip. See, unless you starred in A Nightmare on Elm Street, your de facto applicator isn't nearly pointy enough to smooth caulk neatly and precisely, especially in interior corners. Ten other sealing edges run beads of varying fatness, so you can still make a sloppy joint look neat, even if your cut wound up on the wrong side of a sixteenth of an inch.
